The Dimensions of character within second-hand shopping

Lynn - Eco-Shop

A sporadic but long-time second-hand shopper, Lynn has been shopping at Eco-Shop ever since it opened up in Leuven or as she puts it “since the beginning of the phenomenon”. She shops there because of price, “I like sniveling around and buying things which are bargains” and for environmental reasons because “there has been a lot that has been just wasted, becoming trash.” Lynn mostly buys furniture, kitchenware and books at Eco-Shop and also told me that at the moment her house is too full, implying that she has bought a lot of stuff here; but that in general “it can be fairly handy when you need things for only a couple of years and you buy it 2nd hand” because when you need to move you can sell the old stuff and get more!”
